Do you feel your energy being slowly sapped out?
And wander what has conspired for your life to be like living in a gold fish bowl
Constantly moving back and forth
Engaging your body in a one man brawl
Lashing out and tearing down an imaginary wall
If so far you have never felt this way
Then you better check yourself
Cause you are in the danger zone, the comfort zone
You’re swimming enjoying scenery in a familiar territory
Singing the same old story to unmoved ears
Just look back to the many years that have rushed by
With your priceless dreams, held captive by unknown fears
Such a realization sadly opens a flood gate of “I wish I knew” tears
Flowing down a dejected face
Let’s break free from this trap
And leap into the fresh enchanted waters
For how long will our gifts be buried in the proverbial sand?
True, for how long will we be doormats?
Are we destined to be stepped on and spat on?
Surely not, let’s fight off this overwhelming fear
And be eager to do things right
For our forgotten dreams to light the world
Lest we are snuffed out by our maker
