Compassion

You came!
Quieting myself as a little child,
I invited you, and You came!
Your love, Your yearning, Your reaching,
You, in me!

Teach me,
To host Your manifestation.
Increase my capacity, expand my horizons.
Give me your vision,
We, together!

Open my eyes,
Give me words,
Let your healing flow through my fingers.
Live through me.
As I live in You.

Expand my resources,
My strength and finances.
Extend my borders, houses and lands.
A home for the children,
The weak and the poor.

But, always remembering,
To sit at your feet,
Let me listen quietly
As you expand my understanding
Of infinite Love.

Love, that never fails.
Grace, ever present.
With wisdom for every situation.
Living within me!
Ever expanding!

Surround me, enfold me,
Even as my joy grows.
Compassion within me, expands outward.
Reaching for the heavens,
I look for my God.

Expand my vision!
My God lives!

Quality content arranged in an understandable form.

Yielding to God for his service.

Is the "poem form" what you like to do best?
Jan Ackerson 07/29/13
This free verse poem includes several of the poetic tools that mark a good poem.

I'm currently running a free writing class here on the FaithWriters forums, and this week's lesson is on writing free verse poetry. Stop by, if you wish--everyone is welcome and I appreciate feedback.

I love the content of your poem, but I'm not informed enough to review free verse.

Thanks for sharing.
