Sasha hummed to herself as she filled the infant's bottle with milk. It was all part of the nightly routine she had grown to love. She quietly sang a forgotten song as she screwed the top tightly to the container. The words swirled around her and before she knew it, she was on a stage, the spotlight beaming down, as she sang a solemn tale of lost love. She remembered thanking God for the near perfect performance. When the curtain drew and the moment had passed she inwardly promised Him to never forget her gift. She knew someday her name would be in lights and she would glorify Him, and herself with every note she sang.
Sasha snapped back into the present as a wail called her from the other room. Smiling, she padded into the nursery and was greeted by a pair of blue pleading eyes.
“Again, Mama” the child begged grabbing the now full bottle from the woman’s hand.
The song of Grace drifted from her lips as the little one snuggled in for the night. When all was quiet Sasha watched her sleep, deep in thought. Her name may not be in lights, and she may not be in every household but to one special little girl, Jesus had kissed her goodnight.
