The first time you went
Walking through the freshly
fallen, fiery leaves of Autumn.
The first time you rode your bicycle
Without training wheels all the way
down the neighborhood street?
The first time you caught a firefly
And held its gentle glow
inside your hand?
The first time you saw lightning
bolts Hit the ground
and heard thunder that shook
The heavens?
The first time you said
” I love you” and
really and truly meant it?
The day your daughter or
son came into your life?
The day your father, mother,
sister or brother exited without
warning this life.
Our lives are full
Of memories that become
Treasured keepsakes
And touchstones
To relive and revisit
Time and again.
Reminding us of who
We were and where
we have
been.
If we desire to be
Truly complete,
Then we must
Seek to know His
Forgiveness
And Remember His final
Words of
“It is Finished.”
