A marbled, rubber cup sits alongside my bathroom sink. Its smallness made perfectly for the hand of a child; my hand and those of my sisters and cousins many years ago. During my youth it resided at my maternal grandparents house for all the grandchildren to use when we had sleepovers. Today its prescence instantly conjures warm visions of those long past days; memories that somehow seem alive. Each memory a movie montage of happy, youthful summer days at the lake, down home bluegrass music played by my great aunts and uncles and catching fireflies as the sun sets over the water. It seems as though I can sometimes still hear the banjos, guitars, fiddles and singing providing a soundtrack to my youth. I was fortunate enough to receive this treasured trinket of my youth after the passing of my grandparents. That part of my life seems only one blink away. Now this tactile memento of my life history serves to remind me daily of how my cup runneth over with family, joy, love and laughter yesterday, today and always.

This reminds me of times past with my family. May your cup of life bless all those who see and use it.

God bless!

A delightful story encapsulated into so few words, but one big powerful message. Thanks.

God bless~

Wonderful title! Family is a blessing to cherish as you've so skillfully shown that you do.

I was positive I commented on this piece. I remember reading it. Congratulations on your ribbon. Though short and to the point the story still stirred emotions in me. I think we all have a special object that brings the past alive for us. Nice job.
