It doesn’t just say "watch" for a very good reason !!! It says "watch and pray" meaning we can not succeed even if we tried in our own strength because we NEED Jesus to lead us out of the temptation that floats like fluid into our lives seeping into the very crevices of our being !
Do not commit adultery ..... But she's the only one who really listens !
Do not murder ....But he raped my baby girl !
Do not steal .....But there is no food on the table !
Do not lie ......But she can't know I spent it all at the race track !
Do not covet .....But that Kidney could have saved my son's life !
Do not, sometimes becomes a place in which we only have one choice! No matter how real our problem is we have a choice to sin and we also have the choice not to, trusting God will work it out .
Yes that choice is very hard sometimes, harder than we could ever imagine it would be, but we forget Jesus too was tempted !In the dust and barren dessert,hungry,hurting,lonley, and confused Jesus said "No" to the enemy when in all reality it would have been very easy to "Yes" !
Jesus has been tempted as we have been and that is why He understands our temptations and can hold our hand down that dusty, abandoned road of obedience. The road which in the end comes out a place far better than we could ever imagine !
He will walk with you, if you will let Him !
