But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
May there be a purposeful, intentional, decided
Internal and external destination
In our heart, soul, and mind in regards
To living missionally, determinedly, whole-heartedly, courageously, refusingly
In the midst of worldly pressures to practice and concede
To ungodly conformities, worldliness, and sin.
May we be purposeful
In our words and actions
So that all will see and know
We have put off the old
And put on the new.
May we be intentional in our excellence
Knowing that whatever we do
We do all for the glory of our God.
May we be decided that we will
Without ceasing pray and have courageous faith
For we know that our God will stop any and all
Prowling and roaring lions
That would seek to destroy us as their prey.
May we all be Christ like and Danielesque in our refusals
And repudiate any and all enemy driven conformities.
May we all refuse the worldly mold
And keep our focus on Jesus
So all will see in us our Savior fully formed
Gloriously living in and through us,
Walking with us in the lions den,
Praying openly to the living God
Who can save nations and people from their sins
Refusing to bow the knee to anyone or anything
But Christ alone
So that it will be said of us,
“Look I see Jesus Christ, the Son of God walking among them
For they live out and practice the Christ like belief
Of the purposeful Christ like and Danielesque dietary refusal of worldliness and sin.”
