Unseasoned words,
Harmful, injurious,
Boastful, persuasive
Deceitfully spurious,
Lying with bitterness
Disharmony,
Brethren these things
Simply ought not to be!

Source of deceit
And fount of corruption,
Subtle, insidious
Bent on destruction,
Desperately wicked
A heart prone to sin,
All words reveal
The true nature within.

Covenant sacrifice,
Daily oblation,
Hearts offered up
In complete consecration.
Only when all
On the altar you lay,
The savour of salt
Will impact what you say.

Strive for heart purity
Seek to be holy,
Changed, in His likeness
From glory to glory,
Remnants of self
In the mirror efface,
When lips, as choice silver
Reflect God's own grace.


Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Col 4:6 KJV
