Deep in behind one’s eyes
Is either darkness or soft light;
The truth of choice reflected
In what is wrong or right.
Light’s glow reflects the joy
That only God can provide,
While darkness carries burdens
That one may try to hide.
Joy’s gift reaches out to those
Who may not be aware
Of God’s loving kindness
And of His tender care.
It’s relinquishing the trials
That we all do struggle with
To Christ, our provider
Whose freedom is promised.
While sorrow’s trap is devised
Of lies the enemy will use
To drag down the innocent,
To destroy, to abuse.
Yet, God’s Word provides the truth
To darkness and to light:
We know that light’s a gift
And darkness is a fight.
A decision must be made
If it already has not,
To fight against the darkness
And grasp the light of God.
Those who’ve decided to ignore
The darkness of their hearts -
Their earthly choice will only lead
To more darkness when life parts.
It is up to you, my friend,
To make this special choice-
For if you choose God’s light
You’ll forever hear His voice.
