I stand here all alone.
All are at their parties
Too busy to telephone.
I’ll have a pity party
Feeling sorry for myself.
Wallow in this emptiness
Upon this dusty shelf.
This is of my own makings
Afraid I won’t blend in.
I say this with an ounce of truth
It’s the way it’s always been.
I stumble in the darkness
Of this blindfold ‘cross my eyes.
The pain of my own failures
Has stopped my every try.
Is this sadness everlasting
It weighs heavy on my soul?
I cannot find a way out
It took its final toll.
As I lie here dying
Brought to this final end.
Teardrops causing me to drown
I’m here without a friend.
Now I’m stepping through the vale
I see this crying man.
I draw near to talk with Him.
To help Him if I can.
I asked Him why His sadness.
He said it’s because of you
And then He told this story
And I saw how it was true.
He told me of Good Friday
About that Easter morn.
Where He took my sins away
Before I was even born!
He stands before the Father
On this holiday.
To ask Him to remember
For us the price He paid.
With everlasting mercy
God smiles down upon us.
Only asking for our love
And in Him we should trust.
I wanted to tell the people
About the Father and the Son.
When suddenly I remembered
Exactly what I’ve done.
His healing hands caressed me
I could breath again.
He said go tell the people
Just where it is you’ve been.
The peace that Jesus gave me
A new life I’ve begun.
The weight is lifted from my back
And carried by the Son.
Now I know the reason
Why today we celebrate.
Look around look what we done
It will never be too late.
With His words to guide us
With His life He shown the way.
So when you try to find Him
Don’t look in a vacant grave.
It is so easy where you’ll find Him
He’s been there from the start.
So when you do go seek Him
Just look inside your heart.
