TITLE: Give a Gift to God
By Susan Allen

Give a Gift to God

To give encouragement to one another is giving a gift to God. Every time we encourage someone, we please Him. God requests every one of us to do so. Everyone knows how to spread encouragement to each other; but some don’t seem to use this skill God gave them. 1Thessalonians 5:11(Amplified)—Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen, and build up) one another just as you are doing.

A little encouragement goes a long way when it makes another person feel better about their circumstances. Encouragement keeps a person keep on going on. This is a gift to God because we are helping one of His cherished creations.

Everyone needs encouragement. It helps boost someone’s morale. It is giving support to a person in need of a helping hand. God loves it when we care about others. It is a commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves. We would love to have a little encouragement once in awhile. I know I would.

Praise someone for a job well done. A little encouragement is very beneficial. It helps the other person do his or her job even better. It always feels good to hear an encouraging word. It even makes the person who did the encouraging feel good about themselves.

Encouragement is a comfort to someone when they are going through a difficult situation. If we have gone through a similar situation ourselves; we could help them and they would know we know how they feel. [This verse says it perfectly: 2Corinthians 1:4(Amplified)—who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (consolation and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consultation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God.] Isn’t it wonderful when God puts a person in our path so that we may give them comfort in their time of need. It’s a gift to us as we give the gift back to our heavenly Father.

Next time you see a shy or self-conscious person, reassure him or her. That person will begin to glow and feel worthwhile. Let him or her know God loves them and that they were given life for a special purpose. Encourage that person by letting them know that God doesn’t make mistakes and that they are important. This really pleases God.

Giving confidence is a sensitive form of encouragement because that person is so unsure of themselves. We have to be careful how we word our exhortation without making them feel worse. For instance, saying, “I am confident that you can do this new job”. If the person doesn’t have the confidence in himself, you can’t force it on anyone. Maybe you will give them hope and inspire them with your words of encouragement; or they could take it out of perspective and think you were just saying it to make them take the job to fail; even though you meant what you said about their ability.

God is blessed when we bless someone else. It’s like God is working through us so that we may glorify Him. Giving encouragement to one another really is a gift to God, and He is well pleased.

When we do for the least of these, we do it for Him!

This was a beautiful entry that boasted lovely sentiments about God...all so true. I could almost see this as a sermon or a devotional. Nicely told.
Thank you.

God Bless~

This is a nice mini sermon. It is so true how a few words of encouragement can really turn a bad day into a good one. I love it when something like that happens unexpectedly. It feels like a special I love you from God. You did a nice job covering the topic. The verses you selected were a great fit too.
