Look upon that little group of men, do you see them? Well let me tell you a little something about them and their leader.
Their leader isn't nothing to look at, but what a presence, though He says some strange things from time to time.
He hand picked those men that surround Him.
Yes, those twelve men right there.
You know at one time there were more following after Him, but most turned back after He said some hard things that they didn't understand, but these twelve have remained with Him now for about 2 1/2 years.
Do I understand all He says, no, but I am interested and that is why I have tried to keep up with Him and His men.
I've seen some things that I cannot explain, but I do know that those that say He does it by the power of the devil are wrong. Good cannot come from evil power.
One thing I do know, things are getting more dangerous for this leader, why plots to trap Him into saying something to convict Him with have already been attempted, though He escaped them for now.
Well getting back to His followers, they have had some grand Ideals, some high hopes for their leader to set up His kingdom here and they would be in authority beneath Him since He would be King. They are ready to break Roman rule from off their necks and they believe their leader will do just that.
You would not believe all that has gone on for the last year or so for now the followers are down to eleven, and the leader has been arrested and put on trial. The judgment was just given and He is to be crucified.
The road is lined with people some are weeping, some are yelling and screaming and cursing, some are mocking and ridiculing Him as He is going by them trying to carry His cross. O He is down and the soldier pulls a man out of the crowd to take and carry the leaders cross
The followers are scattered and their dreams and hopes dashed all to pieces, and their grand ideals burst. One thing I remember hearing from the leader was and I if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto myself.
It appears this is the end for the leader and His followers, but wait, something is happening. Three days ago He was crucified and placed in this barrowed tomb and around daybreak the big rock at the mouth of the tomb started moving and was rolled away and the leader came out alive!
Rejoice! Rejoice! For the leader, Jesus Christ God's only begotten Son is alive! And He shall rule in men's hearts as King of kings, and Lord of lords! For in the end, Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
