Like you say, the story is quite a common one nowadays.
Nonetheless, I like how you have personalised the story through strong characterization.
You also engage the reader's sympathy for Richard and his predicament, even though he refers to his life as 'not much.'

A very touching story.
Interesting and enjoyable to read. Well done.
This is a sweet story and I enjoyed reading it. I'm not sure if it fits the topic totally but it was well-written and a lovely read.

I love this story. It really speaks to my heart about the value of life and the things that encompass it. My perspective and my priorities surely have been challenged by your story.

The story is lovely! My heart went out to your character because loosing a loved one happens all the time, and homelessness is very misunderstood.

I think it was appropriate for the topic. His life is no big deal...it's his life! Just lovely!
Congratulations on ranking 10th in level one!
