I work inside your heart
To bring about in you
The fruit that you may show
In all you say and do.

Where others may have hate,
May you show love instead,
As you respond to Me
And act as you are led.

In anxious times of stress,
To Me, you may release,
And trust I’m in control.
In faith, you may have peace.

Frustration at its peak,
Don’t let your temper flare.
My patience I will give,
You’ll find it’s always there.

Resentment shows its face,
It’s tempting to give in.
I’ll hold out kindness then.
Please choose it over sin.

When others need a friend,
Then put yourself aside.
To them, My goodness show
As in you they confide.

Commitments hard to keep,
With faithfulness prevail.
You’ll find your strength in Me
And see I never fail.

When tempted to be harsh,
May gentleness show through.
As you obey My voice,
May they see Me in you.

From bondage deep within,
You want to be set free.
I’ll give you self-control,
But you must come to Me.

My work continues on,
To show Myself through you,
As you make Me a part
Of all you say and do.

You are describing me, especially when I am at work. The atmosphere makes me want to blow my top sometimes, well, all the time. The only thing that keeps me in check is God. I had my performance evaluation and my supervisor told me that she wished I was full time instead of parttime because I am so even tempered and level headed. She also said that no one had an unkind word about me. Wow! Good thing God lets me vent to Him as often as I want. That's a testament to the awesome power of our God! Thanks for sharing this poem.
