This side of PARADISE
I can only surmise
the peace and the beauty
on the other side.
Yet, I know there are times
when I walk nearby and
I can almost feel that
peace inside.
Where is Paradise?
Is it up, or beside?

The Scriptures say
there are those who watch
the many things we do
and often I think that I can hear
their voices coming through.
They give to me encouraging
words and often
a song in the night;
and I know that they are there,
but I have not seen them
with my physical sight.

When the thin veil of life
dissipates and I see
as I am seen, I wonder if I
then will find there was
little space between the place
we call PARADISE
and the road on which
we walk called LIFE?
To the thief, who acknowledged
his guilt of sin, Jesus’ encouraging
word to him was one of immediacy,
“Today,” He said to the dying man,
“with Me in Paradise you shall be.”

So, where is Paradise?
Is it up, or beside?
I truly cannot say,
but I do know, by God’s Word,
that the Kingdom of God
victoriously resides inside
Believers, today.
Today as we walk on the road
called Life, within our heart
we share a part of the other side,
called PARADISE, conclusive,
but illusive Paradise.

I enjoyed this Though I know little about critiquing poetry, I thought it flowed with beauty, fluidity and meaning.
