Spiritual War and Peace

Christians wage war against an enemy of deceit, darkness, and evil. Many are unaware of the damage that occurs in this battle. The closer a person draws to Christ and the more they let Him live through them, the more apparent the war is. It seems that individuals who do not serve God, are unaware or unaffected by this war. Satan already has them in his clutches; there is no battle for their souls. But those live for God are a danger to the evil one’s kingdom.

The challenge for many believers is that they are unaware of the schemes, tools, and weapons that our enemy uses against us. He knows their weakness; he knows where and when to strike. The war begins with temptation to sin and live against the will of God. Temptation is one of the main weapons the enemy uses in this war. The key for the Christian is to recognize temptation and not submit to it.

Many spend a lot of their energy in fear of the enemy. The Bible tells us in James 4:7 (New International Version) 7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The only reprieve and peace that a Christian can experience from Satan’s attacks are through the Lord and Savior; Jesus Christ. Paul gives practical tools to use in spiritual warfare in the book of Ephesians, (the armor of God). It is important for Christians to: 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:11-12 (New International Version)

Peace will only come through the blood of Christ. John 8:36 (New International Version) 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. The freedom in Christ is so easy to obtain. It takes simple faith: Ephesians 2:8 New International Version 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Of all of the wars that people face, the spiritual war does the most damage. At the same time, it is the easiest war to win and obtain peace.

Some good reminders here!

You have a paragraph that repeats itself in the middle.

Good writing. We can never be reminded of our freedom in Christ too many times.

This is a great devotion with a wonderful message. My only suggestion might be to include a personal story about overcoming spiritual warfare. But the message and the Bible verses were perfect.

Congratulations for placing 10th in level one!
