Gods light on the red light
Dad and Dave Jr
Dad's name was Dave, too, the father Dave Jr,Dad and Dave lived together. After Dad's wife left him, they were more like best friends than father and son. They did everything together, drinking , chasing the ladies and dealing drugs . Life was one big party for these two men of the world. Dad taught Dave everything he knew of the world, considering he had done a good job.
The party came to an end, when Dad met Vickie, Vickie was a christian , she was no ordinary christian, she was full on ministering to the homeless, doing street evangelism Friday nights in the red light district, of sin city central. That's where she met Dad. Dad had always been curious about the people in the van opposite his favorite night club giving out food and coffee. Vickie handed him a coffee, Dave thought there was something different about this lady, was it her highland red hair, no , it was something in her persona a light about her, she was out of place in sin city central,
Her light shone in the darkness. Like a bug mesmerised by this light, Dave stood and listened to Vickie as she told of where her light came from. So compelling was Vickie that Dave senior asked that night if he to could have the light too.
Dad gave his heart To God that night and in the months after became a sellout for Jesus just as much as Vickie. Turning in every way from his old self, becoming part of the solution and not the problem. It was not so for Dave Jr. Dad was hand out coffee's and Bible verses, while Dave Jr was dealing drugs on the other side of the street.
Dad felt responsible for what he had created in Dave, he would pray for Dave's salvation, that one day he would know the light too. Vickie con-souled him telling him that Dave was an adult and he too would have to make a decision where, he was heading, and although he had shown Dave Jr the wrong side of life, he was now showing the light of Christ.
