To be sold is a terrible thing to happen. Written in history and the Bible, Jesus was sold out by Judas. I was sold.
From the time I was born, I had done some terrible things, well at least according to some. Anger and feeling alone was a problem. When I was bought, it seemed so hard. Being bought by someone, I felt I needed to change. I tried so hard to get acceptance by the one who bought me. It didn't work.
Stumbling and falling in aspects of my life, I realised I was still loved, but didn't know why I deserved the love which was given me. Just at the right moment courage built up from within to ask my purchaser, why did you buy me?
“You see, I bought many of you because I love you.”
“Really.”
“Oh yeah, I have bought children but they haven’t accepted me yet.”
“I don't understand. Why would you buy someone if they haven’t accepted you?”
“It wasn't easy. It was one huge sellout. A man named Judas sold me for money. I wanted to die for the world so I would have many children. One of those people is you. You have been bought with a price. Oh, not for bad things to come on you, but so you may receive good things.”
“So you didn't care what I was like when you bought me?
“No child, You just needed to accept me.”
“Oh but I do. I am glad Judas sold you out.”
“My child with so much faith, you have a huge responsibility now to share me with others. Remember that unless you come to me as a little child you cannot enter heaven. They must come to me for forgiveness of their sin. They must believe I died on the cross and rose again. They also must accept my Spirit into their hearts and grow in Grace.”
“I'll try.”
“Oh no you won't! You will do it by your faith in me.”
I guess I was sold out for good!
