There is one national department store that has become the subject of many legends as to how they have provided legendary experiences through unbelievable customer service. How did they achieve this? The company decided to take this high road and they daily challenged and empowered their employees to perform in this manner. What was the result? They built a contagious atmosphere of excellence, both in attitude and action.

The Bible also teaches these principles of excellence. These principles should be used in our homes, in our businesses and with our friends. Just like the department store management, we need to daily review, encourage and empower those around us to live lives of excellence.

The following principles are from the collection of wisdom entitled Proverbs:

Obtain Wisdom
Understand Ethics
Teach Others
Stand Firm
Take Time
Analyze Decisions
No Compromise
Do Good
Initiate Smiles
Never Quit
Give Generously

Practicing these principles daily will result in an outstanding life which will be filled with legendary experiences and unbelievable relationships with others.

Nice encouraging little piece. And I see the “something special” about the list too. :-)You’ve got me wondering now, which department store are you referring to? Would love to have read about one or two actual incidents exampling what was on the list.

This is a clever message. I'd enjoy to hear even more, maybe a story or two about the store. You had a fresh way to represent the topic.

Concise and well written. I think most readers would like to know the name of the store. Good wrap up.

A very thoughtful piece i like the list of outstanding qualities and it would have been good if you could have linked it more to the first paragraph.

This article reminded me of a teaching article that could be used as part of a small group for church. It provides soul searching criteria for one to ponder.

How do we figure out what to do and who to be? The first price tag actually came from a Christian clothier. Until than folks just kind of said what the price was and than negotiated. Ethics and rightness are imposede on us. Using appropirate scales is definitely scriptural. Interesting article. Made me think
