Wow! Gorgeous and delicious feast of words and a precious story. A modern day Francis of Assisi? I want to know more about this self-described fugitive now. A couple of favorite phrases: “rabble of butterflies” and “a day borrowed from heaven.”

Beautifully descriptive!
I truly enjoyed this- It reminded me of 3 special friends that come to the pond outback every Spring. I sometimes think they are honking just for me, It always lifts my spirits as your story just did.
This is the level of writing I aspire to. Breathtaking. Each word seems precisely chosen to capture the senses and set a rhythm that calms the spirit, allowing the reader to sink into your prose.

I've read quite a few this week and this is my favourite. Splendid! - love nature and birds, this was wonderful!
I'm entranced by your sensory images. A "rabble of butterflies." Now how did you think of that. A story perfectly wonderful in every way!
Congratulations in placing 8th in level 4 and 12th overall.
