OUR ANGEL!
After two house fires my parents didn’t know what they were going to do. The home insurance had elapsed before the first house fire, in which my dad was thirty percent burned as well as losing his father to burns. They knew that we would welcome them in our home as long as they needed. They also realized that we had four children of our own to support. My dad swallowed his pride and asked for help, a few people that he asked thought he was just going around asking for a handout.
The reality is, my parents were disabled, no money, and could no longer depend on us to support them. He was almost ready to give up when he decided that he’d try one more place, The First Baptist Church. He met with a man we all call “Our Angel or Pastor James” as his congregation knows him, he told him about both house fires, losing his dad, and living with us. He also told him how this was his last hope of someone helping him and my mother.
That day Pastor James prayed with him, and then began making phone calls. He was able to get into contact with someone who was able to barrow them a fifth wheel camper to stay in. Then he began to petition the county to help get them a house, while members of the congregation volunteered and began the cleanup of the property where the house fires had taken place. After Two years of jumping through loop holes, dis honest people, and stress. They began wondering if it was ever going to happen.
My parents are now happily living on their property in a two bedroom trailer. Every day we all thank God for all of the volunteers, and the angel he sent in the form of Pastor James. He sent them all with open loving arms and the best handout they could ever receive God, himself. They also thank God for the all wonder full people who helped them as well and the house they now happily live in.
