God who is and was and will always be
Has forever been and dwelled in eternity
Speaking from heaven from the firmament above
On a time consuming quest to show humanity love

Being rejected by mankind over and over again
Rather he reveals himself as God or does it as man
Willing to forgive our sin and create a clean new heart
That he and his creation will not permanently stay apart

God broke a piece of eternity and called it time
Offered man salvation that wouldn't cost him dime
A chance to for us to know him and to call him friend
To correct our mistakes and obtain a blessed end

From generation to generation he sought a sacrifice
Patiently waiting for a vessel to usher in the Christ
Tolerating the blood of bullocks that did not take away sin
Running a spiritual marathon that he knew he would win

God's search was exhausting and the wait pretty long
But he would endure anything to right his creation's wrong
Be it a mountain, a valley, the sea, or a rugged cross
God withstood Hell and Satan that no one had to be lost

God's power is so mighty and his command is so strong
You wonder why he strives with foolish man like he does so long
God is enveloped in eternity and strapped with power
He could have drew the curtain of time by his command at any hour

But God is patient and merciful and gracious and kind
And knows the beginning from the end and what he will find
Time doesn't deter or discourage him nor change his plan
God is consumed and infatuated with his creation called man

Our time consuming job as blessed children of grace
Is to keep our eyes on the Lord and run a faithful race
Praying without ceasing and sharing the good news
Realizing no matter how long it takes we cannot lose

lovely reflective poem.I liked the "broke a piece off eternity and called it time"
i think that in the first verse it should be 'dwelt' not 'dwelled' and i think it should be 'not cost a dime' rather than

'not cost dime' i love to read your poem thank you.
