A Prayer for the Minister's Week

Early O Lord, have I sought thee. Not for me alone, but for thy people as well. Give us this day, our daily bread and this week, the things that we may have need of. Help me to lead your people to green pasture that they may eat and take them beside still waters that they may drink. I need you today, O Lord, to touch me that I might touch your people. Bless me, that I might bless them. Strengthen me, that I might strengthen them. In our service someone will need you today Father. They will need you this week. My prayer is that they not go home empty, but satisfied and fulfilled. Without you, who would we be and where would we go? I thank thee O God, because you have given us this week. What we receive today will be from heaven because you are the one who gives it. The word we receive today is already in your mind and in the midst of thy Spirit, ready to flow from my heart and to be spoken by my lips. Put your hand on your servant I pray and speak to him O God, that the saints may know you that you have loved them. Father, today let grace must flow from thy alter and mercy come down from the heavens. Let your love, your abundant love fill our heart and souls.

Your servant David said "Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary; who is so great a God as our God?"1 In your greatness O God, I do believe. It is your breath that is in my body. Let my hands be your hands, my eyes your eyes and my mouth your mouth this day my Lord. Remember the words of Barchel to Job, "The Spirit of God hath made me and the breath of God hath given me life."2 Fill us O Lord, with your life and breath. No one else will hear us this week. It is to you we have hoped and prayed. I know He that was, He that is and He that shall be will answer our prayers. I thank you Father, because this day and this week is in your hands and you have given it to us. We are blessed by you. We will feel your strength, raise our voices and lift our hands to glorify your name.

Father this week is given to us and we will return it back to you, better than we received it, having let your love and grace shine through us.

In Jesus name I pray.
Amen

lovely. I like the "old" style writing in the prayer which reminds me that it is the 500th anniversary of the King James Bible
