Twenty-four hours, eight of which I slept
Only after thinking how much I'm in your debt.
Sixteen hours, half of one I spent preparing for the day.
While getting dressed, I heard my favorite song play.
Fifteen and a half hours, that half spent over hot tea
Reading a letter written just for me.
Fifteen hours, one which was spent reading a good book
Tucked away comfortably in my favorite nook.
Fourteen hours, half of which occurred at work
But not even once did a dreadful feeling lurk.
Seven hours, during two--I ate
All the while hoping I would not be late.
Five hours, for one I went on a walk.
For another, my brother and I had a nice talk.
Three hours, one was spent in a garden of seeds
Watching the sun set as I contentedly pulled weeds.
Two hours, I'm not sure where one went,
But if it was full of laughter, then I know it was well-spent.
Twenty-four hours in my happy day, and now that I've told about the rest,
Let me say that the hour I spent with you is the one I like the best.
