The Season’s of a Rose
What will I be, who will receive my beauty?
Who will love me?
Beginnings
I kiss the sun, I drink the rain
Receiving the glorious bounty
Nourishment
Every shade and fullness, breathtaking
God’s perfect creation
Colour
The earth affects my full potential
I’m so vulnerable
Growth
My beauty unfolds, all bask in the excellence
The thorns complicate me
Development
Sweet fragrance, intoxicating, memorable
Different to each recipient
Uniqueness
Romance, my beloved, my partner,
Will you be mine?
Love
Hurting, the pain I hide, please protect me
The winds, the infestations
Suffering
Full bloom, exquisite, celebrated, temporary
Look at me
Influence
Gifting, sweetness, giving back to the universe
Understanding kindness
Knowledge
Slightly fading, still exalted and displayed
The world looks different
Wisdom
Others around me, some have fallen now
In my memory always
Loss
Wilting, petals falling, my final days
I understand beauty
Confidence
I know what I was meant to be.
I know who loves me.
Eternity
“…All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field…The grass
withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:6 NIV)
