Forever Changed
Wounded and bleeding and laid on a tree,
Insulted and mocked by those He intended to free.
Nails pierced through hands and no comfort given,
Tormented unjustly yet eternally driven.
Enduring hours of pain bore our sin,
Rejected and dying as the shouts began to din.
Sparing us from grief and sorrow again,
Preparing a place in Heaven where no man had been.
Resurrected life no grave could contain,
Instantly removed the darkness of our crimson stain.
Nurtured by God’s Word and eternal things,
Graciously guarded by the Spirit and angel’s wings.
Simple message of Salvation He preached,
Understood and accepted by those He came to reach.
Ministered to the poor, deaf, sick, and blind
Miracles performed to heal people of every kind.
Energized by times of quiet and peace,
Removed from the crowds for needed spiritual release.
Anointed by Mary’s tears and perfume,
Understanding shortly He must face impending doom.
Transformed from Divine into human form,
Unwilling to just comply with society’s norm.
Mysteries of Christ not yet revealed to man,
Never letting anything color His utmost plan.
