In our busy lives we flock to those things that come to us so quickly; food prepared in a fast food place by someone who doesn't even want to be there, served without a thought to how it will be received. Prepackaged items that were designed to be consumed for nutrition, not taste or value. Those rare occasions that the average family may sit to a meal, the day's happening clouds any thought of mutual conversation with secrets we hide from each other.
Where once we would walk to the park or store, now we hop in a car and zoom off to our favorite coffee shop. Malls are crowded with afternoon shoppers not meaning to buy a thing, but there all the same. Every thing the world has to offer under one roof, conveniently in reach.
Computers hold all of existence at our finger tips. Friends and family held in a little box so we don't have to leave the safety of our home to visit. We don't even have to dress to go out. Without seeing them or even hearing their voice, we can discuss plans that we already know wont come about-- and not even care if they don't.
And if by chance we do meet up, there we sit in our favorite Starbucks typing away on laptops and cell-phones we carry around in our pockets, sending out text messages instead of hearing another’s voice. Lost in a world of the devils making, without seeing the truth for what it is.
Life has become cold and uncaring, we lock ourselves away in the cages of our own making. Without meaning, without feeling, without understanding why-- or even taking the time to care.
Oh how the Devil laughs at the tears of God as HE weeps for His lost children. Can they not hear Him calling His sheep to the gathering? Have we too lost the taste for such goodness in our haste to travel the worlds pathways? Why do they not see the pain such a life causes us-- leading to slothfulness? When was the last time we slowed down to smell the fragrant blessings of our God's great bounty-- or reached out with our hearts to touch His purest love? Can they not understand His blessing came with a cost, the blood of His priceless sacrifice for our lives. Is the heart of Man beyond feeling?
Matthew 6:33. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
