Seeing By God’s Light
Wavy bands of light form colors in my eyes
And I see what is vivid, bold and “real”.
Music notes and words flood into my ears
And I see visions in my heart of wispy things
I think of what I want and what I could have been
And I see pictures in my mind of dreams and schemes
But If I see within my eyes
And in my heart
And in my mind
I still am blind.
God’s Spirit is within me; He’s a spectrum of His own
What I see by His light’s true and pure.
By the light of stars above everything’s a shade of grey
But by the Light of God’s Love paths are clear
God’s ways are not our ways and his eyes, well they’re not ours
But seeing in His Spirit makes things clear.
What God sees is our need
And our sin
And our pain
And He loves us anyway.
