Yet, as each day dawns there you are, draped around me like a favorite blanket. You are never far from me. An overwhelming heaviness entwined throughout the veins of my heart. You are never alone. Anxiety and doubt along with the sensation that something great is about to happen are your constant companions.
I long for the strength to free myself from your embrace. Why do I continue to allow myself to fall time after time? Some say I should know better. I should be wiser now. After all the years and all the dreams that have gone unfulfilled. Yet, repeatedly I believe, I hope, my heart fills with the longing that this time will be the time.
The very fibers of my core become enraptured with the thought. Life as I know it cease to exist. My thoughts grow distant as my mind drifts far away. I begin that familiar journey spiraling into the fantasy.
My heart pounds in my chest. I begin to feel the familiar prickling sensations creeping up the sides of my neck. Yes, yes I know without a doubt that this is it. Nothing else matters. My only thought is making the dream a reality.
I gladly resign my daily pleasures. Gone are the early morning coffee times and leisurely strolls in the afternoon. No more do I allow myself the luxury of curling up with a good book. As I go about my daily routine, I find myself hastily completing my tasks so that I can devote every spare moment to you and the dream.
Every fiber of my being screams that this not in vain. No, not this time around. This time will be perfect. For you see the writer in me has taken over and my one desire in life is bringing you into existence, my best novel yet!
