Repeat after Me Bon Voyage!
Bon Voyage is that what one can say to one whom has died, because we don’t know about their spiritual life.
Well would that be appropriate or not, one certainly couldn’t be accused of saying see you in heaven, and when that person doesn’t get there and you do the lord says to you well where is your friend?
You could reply Lord I really didn’t know that person well enough to ask of their spiritual relationship I was too scared to ask encase I offended him or her.
I like to say to people that I do like them and that the Lord your God would like to have a relationship with you on a personal basis.
Then I tell them, I have a personal relationship with the Lord your God and I really would like to see you to have a personal relationship with him to, So if you don’t and you would like to have that kind of relationship with him also can I please share with you how to have a personal relationship with the Lord of Lords and King of Kings?
Often that is where it stops, but sometimes we can strike up a relationship with that person and show them Christ in us.
Jesus loves each person the same and we to can show others that same love.
I really don’t think that Bon voyage is a good expression for a Christian to use in this situation because we know the truth, no matter how scary it may seem to non believers they need to be shown and told the truth about heaven and hell with out accusing them, or causing them to resent Christianity. They also need to be shown using scripture how one becomes welcomed into the Kingdom of God.
Bon Voyage is said to someone whom is going on an adventure or a trip and you are expecting them to return with the news of their trip or excursion.
We need to be honest with ourselves and believe that one day soon God will do a miracle in their hearts and reveal himself to them because once one is dead it is too late. We need to pray and ask God to reveal himself to them before they die. Most of all we need to have faith in God and trust that his timing is perfect.
At the moment I think of my situation and where I stand with God, Knowing Him is great and it brings peace to my heart that when I do die that I will be with him to spend eternity with him. It is even a greater joy to know that most of my family and close friends will be there to!
So my friends Bon voyage go tell everyone about the great journey that one can have when one becomes a believer and is welcomed into the greatest Kingdom that ever was and will be.
Great joy can be had even at deaths door.
The darkest moments can become lightened by and through the Glory of the Lord your God!
