I started on my journey some time ago,
And yet you refused to come with me.
However much I asked
And told you of the benefits
Still you would not come.
Your life was to busy
The disruption far too much.
You stayed behind
And I miss you.

For I had planned this journey
With you in mind.
To reflect the talents and gifts
That I know you possess.
Yet you were stubborn
And chose your own way
Instead of following my plan.

And so I am sending this postcard
Wishing you were here.
The weather is not always great
The sky is often cloudy and grey.
Here you would be fulfilled
In the place I have for you
How I wish you would come.

And so I say again,
"Come, journey with me"
I need you here beside me.
I need everything that you are
To fulfil my plan.
I do not promise sandy beaches
Or peaceful meadows in summer
And deep blue skies.
But I do promise
That I will be with you
To help you and guide you on the journey.
Will you come to join me?
As I send this postcard
And sign it
Love from God.

A nicely written, free-flowing poem! Very well done! Thanks for sharing!

I liked this a lot, especially the fact that God misses us.

Dave, I really just want to encourage you, as I thought this was a rather nice poem and it rated quite well with the other Level 1 judges. I'll look forward to reading more of your writing in the future. With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)
