It was Saturday night and Pastor Schram just finished his piece of Lemon pie when the phone rang.
“Hello, this is Pastor Schram.”
There was a sound of someone who was crying on the other line. “Hey, who is this?"
“This is Beeeeth.”
With a sound of concern in his voice Pastor asked, “Hey Beth, what‘s wrong?”
Beth spoke slowly while she cried, “There is...... no way...... I am going to be able to go to Peru.”
“Why? Asked Pastor.
“I am short the remaining one thousand five hundred dollars,” Beth started to cry even more.
With a confident tone Pastor said, “Beth, don't worry, the thing you need to do is to pray and trust God that he will meet your need.”
“That all sounds fine but there is no way that I could get that much money by the Monday morning deadline.”
Pastor Tried to assure her, “Beth, after you get off of the phone with me I want to take it to the Lord in prayer. Trust in him and he will provide for your need.”
She cried for a few more minutes then finally said, “Ok, Pastor Schram, I will pray.”
Beth spent two hours in prayer that night. She still had fear when she went to bed that night.

Sunday afternoon around two in the afternoon the doorbell rang. Beth went to answer it.
It was Scott at the door who owned a small business. “Hey Beth, how are you doing?”
“Well, I have been better.”
“I want to say I am sorry, I have been so busy at work. I wanted to donate to your mission trip. I have not had the time to get back to you. I want to give you this check for one thousand five hundred dollars.”
“Wow! Praise the Lord. That is exactly how much I needed. I did not think I was going to be able to go. You’re an answer to my prayers.”
Beth opened her arms and gave Scott a hug.
“Praise the Lord; I am glad I was able to be a blessing,” said Scott with a big smile on his face.
Beth closed the door and she ran to the phone and called Pastor Schram.
“Hey, this is Pastor Schram.”
“I can go! I can go!” Beth screamed.
“Who is this? Is this Beth?” Asked Pastor Schram.
“This is Beth. I can go to Peru. Scott just came over and gave me a check for the remaining amount left that I needed.”
“That is good Beth, see what prayer can do,” said Pastor.
“Yes God does answer prayer, thank you,“ said Beth.
So Beth was able to go to Peru. God does answer prayers.
