Tornadoes, hurricanes,
Winds and great waves,
Ice storms and lightening bolts,
Close driving shaves,
Medical crisis,
Loud startling sounds,
A short notice speech
To be made to a crowd,
Cancer and accidents,
Terror on screen,
Plane crashes, train wrecks,
Refugees fleeing,
The unknown future,
A stranger’s advance,
Police car behind me,
A quick scornful glance,
Nerves and anxiety,
Fear and distress,
Dangers imagined,
Lives under duress,
Lord, see my weakness,
Take note of my pain,
Give me a trusting soul
Once and again.
When life is perplexing,
Faith hard to ignite,
His yoke is easy;
His burden, light.
Peace reigns in trusting souls.
Hearts are at rest.
True love casts out all fear;
God’s children - blessed.
Praise wells inside me.
My future’s secure.
My hand is in His;
My eternity sure.
Psalm 23:4 NL
Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
