Topic: Grrr! (01/28/10)

TITLE: Are you a Grizzly or Teddy?
By Linda Smock

There are many kinds of people in this world. Sometimes the people we are is due to our circumstances. I know Jesus wants me to be loving like a teddy bear. Too often the grizzly comes out. Today the grrr! came out again. My friend and I were waiting for our other friend at a restaurant. Time is going by, she calls I will be there, she says. We wait and wait grrr!, not to mention we have been waiting 3 days to plan this meeting grr! Our breakfast turns to lunch, grrr! I really want to say a few things to my late friend. The friend I'm sitting with reminds me she must have good reason. The teddy bear is out in my friend "Yes I guess you are right I say". We find out later she was really, really sick. The few days before she was having problems with her husband, and her kids. I start to think I'm so glad I did not let the grizzly bear out on her. Why do we judge people before we know whats going on with their lives? When they need understanding, like a teddy bear would do. Not to coddle them in some sin, but to be like a comforter like Jesus. Someone to love them, hug them, be there for them. I had another situation happen over the summer. A man was going to teach our children gymnastics. Well week after week we would be there, he would never show. Grrr! Hey this time it wasn't me. My friend was mad at him. How inconciderate, grrr! This makes me so man, this guy is a flake. I want to tell him a thing or two. I told her, "Well maybe somethings going on in his life?" Wow! I was the teddy this time. We let it go, later to find out what really happened. His daughter was having heart trouble and was dying. My friend felt so bad. You never know what people are going through in this world. In my house I have bears around as a reminder. How to treat people, we can grrr! and say this or that. Or we can ask, "Hey what's really going on in your life?" I'm here for you, or do you need a shoulder to cry on.Jesus said it best in "1 Cor.13:7(NIV) Love bears all things" Look how "bear" is spelled in the Bible. I believe Jesus understands the teddy bear too. (words 414)

Cute story! It made me think of my Dad 'cause we often say that he has a "teddy bear" and "grizzly bear" side. I guess we all do. :)

This is a good reminder to be thoughtful of other people's feelings rather than getting angry because things don't go the way we like. There are a few punctuation errors and the quotations might need a little revising in a few places, but the story is awesome. Keep it up!

I like what you had to say.

Try breaking into paragraphs leaving this much space

between Also,in dialogue, each person gets their own line also. You'll get the mechanics, you are a good writer.
