Brown.

The color of sky over Phoenix or LA
on one of their beautiful smog filled days!
The color of earth and the trunks of trees,

The color of dirt, bread and tea,
The color of lions, hippos and bees.
Blurry brown visions as we flee

Crackers and cookies,
cooked meat and some cheese.
Cakes and pies
Pass a plate please.

Fall is a time that changes the color
Of great forest trees to that of another.
We spend time walking during fall days
Looking for turkeys to shoot where they lay.

Brown is a good neutral color
for painting your house,
your table, your couch.
It works for hats, scarves and on cars
Purses, book covers and the backgrounds on cards

And the most glorious brown of all
the dark and rich thick mocha goo.
Chocolate is a food we all love
And God made it just for you.

You certainly covered a wide variety of brown :D Especially like that last stanza (of course ;D). Nicely done!

Great descriptions. The first four stanzas flowed very nicely, but the meter kind of fell apart toward the end. However, you are off to a great start. Keep up the good work!

I like the scenes you paint here. I agree you are off to a good start (actually, a very good start). Keep writing and God bless!
