Secrets of the Dark Chapel

Windows of stained glass cast a lavender hue
Across the expanse of the dark chapel,
As the golden sunbeams pierce the purple mist
Heralding the arrival of day.

Peace is the gate keeper here
His name is above all names.
Serenity has taken residence in the sanctuary.
Joy has found many voices
Its message to convey.

Freedom marches the isles
Emancipating those who seek
Unshackling those who are oppressed by fear.
For upon the altar, fear must lay.

Morning further illuminates the chapel
Driving dark shadows away.
The gate keeper moves and hovers near
Revealing, exposing, healing, deposing,
Renewing, releasing, reclaiming, restoring.

March on freedom, march on
Pass the pews where the despairing wait for liberation
Banishing fear and hopelessness---away---away.

Leaving behind peace, serenity, and joy
To revel in the purplish glow
Provided by a brand new day.

Freedom stands heroic with peace, serenity, and joy.
They join hands to pray, to praise, to exalt the victor.
Salvation has come to those who seek
To those who wait
To those who believe.

Candles flicker in the golden purplish haze
Where hearts find freedom and
Sin loses its grip on mortal clay.

Windows of stained glass
Silent witnesses to the secrets of the dark chapel.

WOW! This piece was beautiful. I am recommending it to a friend. You painted a very compelling picture with the words and the words were perfect. Great job!

Beautiful word pictures. Reminds me of a chapel at a nearby cemetary.

Brenda, It was very very nice! It is not the kind of poetry I would normally read but I have to say you did a fine job. It painted a beautiful picture in a very poetic way. KEEP WRITING!
