A legacy it was. Passed from generatioans to generations. It was a gift from a young handsome boy of 6, to his lover of 4. the love was as strong as wine, pure as apple, and bright as sunshine. And so, he gave her a purple doll as a gift of their innocent and ‘wet’ love, which she passed on to her generation as a symbol of love and royalty. For purple symbolizes royalty.
This is the legacy of ‘our’ mothers- my grandmother, and great-grandmother, fom 8 generations now..
A simple purple doll, dotted with white flowers, which the first holder cherished more than life itself, and passed on to her daughter when she clocked 4. it sounds crazy but it was adored because of the strong love between the little lovers who later became our grandparents of the past 8 generations.
I, as a daughter, is entitled to this adorable purple doll. But, alas, no one has seen this doll for 16 years. The last holder was mother Margaret who reported it missing when she was 7. tears after tears, the house was turned upside down, but no one knows the lot of the baby doll. And so, the legacy died. Only memories are cherished by those who held the doll, and wishes were made by those who never did.
Where is OUR purple doll? Have the lovers come back to life to take the doll with them? Where is my purple doll? Where is it?
When next you see a purple doll, please cherish it for it might be ours. Give it a sweet pat on the head, or an expensive kiss if you can afford it!
