Red eyes immediately leads to people staring at you with that considering look. Did the boyfriend dump her? Maybe she had a wild night partying until sunrise… If you seem to be a member of the over-thirty tribe, others of the same orientation would start debating whether you have a baby or sick child at home, or maybe you spend your precious horizontal time finishing the project little Johnnie forgot about… An elderly matron would probably immediately have visions of hospitals or funeral homes….. No, no, no! I just have a case of hay fever!
Red face? This one is normally preceded by some occurrence of the mortifying variety. Sometimes you only have yourself to blame, like the time the elastic of your petticoat decides to go on strike. Said petticoat then decides to give in to the laws of gravity and comes to a standstill around your ankles. Of course, this has to happen in the middle of a department store.
Another memorable incident that precedes a red face is in all probability instigated by your normally very polite toddler. The toddler would choose a most awkward time to enquire whether the large lady in front of you was going to have a baby. The question would of course be asked in a loud voice, and would be repeated in spite of your valiant efforts to muzzle said toddler.
While a beauty spot is normally cute and charming, any teenager can attest to the fact that a red spot can under no circumstances ever qualify as a beauty spot. No, a red spot is normally the cause for panic, as said spot usually tends to make an appearance whenever you have a date with the hottest guy around.
Fortunately, in most of these cases, a proper restorative can be enjoyed with your (sympathetic) best friend, a bottle of champagne and a very large portion of french fries, the latter smothered with… RED ketchup, of course!
