Red,
red is the color..of the precious blood that was shed.

Filled with grace, love and mercy,
my saviour,
the blessed redeemer,
the only lamb of God..
was crucified on calvery,
...and red,
red is the colour..of the precious blood that was shed.

Nailed to the cross,
they parted among them His garments,
and on His vesture, did they cast lots.
They spat on Him,
and they mocked Him,
and they smote Him on His head,
and red,
red is the color..of the precious blood that was shed.

Behold the fullness of His mercy..
was shinging as He cried
Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani,
He yeilded up His ghost..
and then my saviour died.

Jesus glorified the Father
and the Father glorified His Son.
Through him our sins are forgiven
and our salvation won.
We are made alive in Christ,
we are justified,
all because the saviour's son,
shed His precious blood.

Red...red is the color that flowed.

Very passionately written! You have a great tenderness for our Lord.

Good writing; just a few misspells. Love to see more of your works.

This is a well-written poem. It flows wonderfully. I felt like it was a great use of the theme for the week.

So well done.

Effective use of repetition in this lovely free verse poem.

In one stanza, you have "shinging" (not sure what word was intended) and a misspelling of "yielded". Minor errors to fix up before you do anything more with this poem.

There's currently a thread on different types of poetry in the "Jan's Master Class" forum of the message boards. We're discussing one form of poetry each week, and would love your input. Come on by!
