a most unusual way. I wasn’t searching for Him but He was searching for me. You see, I was at work and I met a man who talked to me about the bible and more importantly about Jesus. Somehow I knew that what he was telling me, I needed to hear. It didn’t take long and before I knew it he gave me a tract. On that tract was God’s simple plan of salvation. I had never heard the message before. To this day I can remember what the tract said. The tract told me that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” and that we are all just like sheep that have gone are own way. Then it had a simple but powerful picture on it. The picture was of two plateaus with a deep chasm in between. Then there was bridge that spanned across the chasm. The bridge was the cross of Calvary.
All I know is that words “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” pierced my heart like a knife. The picture of the two plateaus with the cross between them made perfect sense to me. Then God in his wisdom did not leave me without a solution to my life’s dilemma. For on the back of tract were the words, if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I would be saved.
It must have been obvious to the young man that gave me the tract that I understood the message. After all it was all, it was just so simple. Why even a child could understand it! So he suggested that I go into the bathroom and pray the prayer on the last page of the tract. But I asked him if I could pray right there. So I prayed the prayer on the back of the tract and
Jesus to came into my heart.
What happened afterwards was amazing. I had peace in my heart for the first time in life. Everything was different; even though it was all still the same. And more importantly, I knew that my life had a purpose and that I was really saved.
Every since that day, my life has never been the same. I started reading the bible and praying everyday. After a while I started going to church, got married to a saved woman and have a
family. Oh! Yes! I can’t forget that I owe it all to Jesus. The one who died for me!
