What is happening to our children,
The adolescents and many teens?
It seems their lives are wasting away.
Can you tell me what all of this means?

Could it be that we, as their parents,
Are failing them, and losing their trust?
Do they grow up without the answers,
Which, in this failing world, is a must?

They don’t grasp the results of actions,
This ruins their lives in a moment;
Yielding to momentary pleasures,
Instead of Christ’s love and atonement.

Oh yes, there’s so much for them to face.
Their minds aren’t developed, to be wise.
Satan dangles all the world offers,
That is a fleeting pleasure’s disguise!

Train them to choose lasting fulfillment,
Above all of life’s passing pleasures.
If we desire to be a true friend,
It often takes unpleasant measures.

A parent’s true, lasting, fulfillment,
Comes only when they are fully grown.
That’s when they begin to realize
The value of the toughness of home.

They recognize the pitfalls they missed;
Because of their parents guiding hand.
Now, they are mature enough to see
It was good when you changed their own plan.

Leading the children to follow God,
Is the greatest gift they can be given.
What a joy to know without a doubt,
They’ve joined you, on the path to heaven!
