Her life had been cold, like winter.
No one would listen, or care,
Her suffering had come, like endless winter,
No summer for young lady fair.

Her tears had been rain for long,
Her skin had been ice for longer.
Her heart had been cold for longest of all.
And the people said, “She is a goner.”

But one alone had listened,
And called her back to Him.
He alone, had cared for this woman.
His name is God.

His Word had filled her empty heart,
His Light, like sun, had warmed her skin,
His Love, it dried away her tears,
And brought her out of the winter within.

Summer at last, had come for her.
Her life was turned back to God.
The warmth of the season was finally there,
And her heart had finally warmed.

In the liveliness of summer, she no longer seems out of place.
No longer like a corpse, a statue or ghost.
She no longer recoils at the sight of joy,
Or stands aside, like a post.

God has given her a better look on life.
And through His only Son,
He has brought her soul from the grave,
And her spirit is filled with God.

Very touching story! God does change us, from inside out. He is the Healer of broken hearts. Inspiring poem and good reminder of the source of our happiness. Keep writing and listening to His still small voice.
