SUMMER
Thank You for our Lord Jesus on those
Hot Summer mornings and warm Summer nights;
A bright new day adorning, as the sun ascends in height.
Schools out, grass is growing;
OH, I shout, it’s back to mowing!
Flowers dancing, trees are swaying;
Horses prancing and children all playing.
Birds singing, bee’s buzzing;
The suns beaming and parents are fussing.
Butterflies flutter, crops yield;
Empty those gutters, sun block shields.
Cows with calves, and ants abounding;
The IRS laughs, it’s all so astounding.
Flies terrorize, cedar trees bloom;
Blenders pulverize, and allergies loom.
Boats are sailing, with water sports clowns;
Ouch he’s wailing, as he goes down.
Beach sand is hot, and umbrellas surround;
Bikini? NOT, way too many pounds.
Squirrel came by, just a chillin;
He’s not shy, time to start grillin.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon;
Crawfish, shrimp both need shellen.
Ponds are warm and glistening, swimming pools are full;
Stay calm and listening, enjoying Our Saviors jewels.
Rain starts falling, waves are crashing;
Hot winds sprawling, lightening flashing.
Storms a brewing, dogs are barkin;
Darkness looming, lets all hearken,
Thank you for Our Lord Jesus on those
Hot Summer mornings and warm Summer nights;
For our days sojourning, are filled with You as Light.
