He was incognito for the simple reason that his life had taken a wrong turning. The one good thing which he didn’t have in his old life was God and because of this he knew he could wake up every morning thanking and praising the almighty. One thing was for sure, he hadn’t been found yet and that in itself was a blessing.
Terry Jenkins loved how close he resided to the beach. It bought him some nice memories flooding back. It would be the summer (this season) that his thoughts focused around his ex girlfriend and their daughter. They shared their birthday in the month of July and no matter how much he tried to move on, he just couldn’t forget them and yearned to do the impossible by going back home.
He’d sit in his bedsit for hours thinking and smoking. He knew it was bad for his health but it had been his only pleasure since the mishaps of life took place. He was kicking himself because of what had taken place that day, some thirteen years ago.
It hadn’t even been his fault. He felt as if he was punishing himself by staying away but if he’d tried to make contact would he be remembered or even still wanted?
Would his two girls reside at the same address? Would they even remember him?
It had been a long time, he’d been to scared to ring, their number was still on his mobile but he knew they wouldn’t have his as the number had changed more than once. Terry was beginning to make a life for himself but knew that if his real name had become known he would be picked up by the police immediately.
‘It’s time to forget.’ He thought to himself. He’d made his bed, so he was the one who had to lie in it. He was now a believer and so his trust had to be in God that both of the girls were fine and living a good life.
He knew the people who’d been looking for him, at one time they even classed
themselves as friends, whether they were still looking for him or not was a different matter but they hadn’t caught up with him yet and that had made everything seem alright except for the fact he was missing those who meant so much to him.
Terry attempted to complete jobs which needed to get done in hope that it may control his depressing thoughts and clear his head from the fact he couldn’t go back.
As much as he wanted to, he knew now it wasn’t possible. With God in his life he would be able to accomplish anything and that meant leaving his past behind him.
