It seems as though it was only yesterday,
Where did the time go?

Our paths crossed and we each said “hello”
Where did the time go?

Through laughter, tears, joy, sorrow
Where did the time go?

Life occurred for each of us

Doors opened, doors closed
In split seconds we each made choices
Go through the door and come out on the other side
Or
Stand still

Each of us armed with encouragement from one another
We began our life’s journeys
Where did the time go?

Significant others, spouses, children, parents
Employment, unemployment
Health, sickness
Where did the time go?

Birthdays, anniversaries
First steps, first words
Heartache, loss
Where did the time go?

The heartache and loss bring tears and sorrow
For we each would trade all of tomorrow
To say the things left unsaid
Where did the time go?

We love, and when necessary we let go
We each have our times
We each have our seasons

Time moves on
Each of us changing, evolving

We want to believe at some point that each of us
has figured life out
Comes that moment, that surprise
That catches each of us off-guard

20, 30, and possibly 40 years go by
We each renew our memories with each other of things past
Where did the time go?

There will be that one door, where there will be no hesitation
In time, we each will experience this
That glorious undeniable beauty

The beauty of the creator
Welcoming each of us

Especially like the last stanza. Love the hope you bring to this piece.
