“No Tanner! I told you not to take the plant out, its timeout for you!”
“No ime out, I no wanit!”
“Yes, timeout for 2 minutes.”
I don’t like time out! I was only trying to make a mud pie. I didn’t mean to hurt the plant. This is so long and boring, when is it going to end? Oh, here comes Mommy! Yes, now I can go play again!
“Okay Tanner, it’s dinner time. Do you want mac and cheese?”
“Yeah, ac an eese, ac an eese!”
“Okay silly, here you are.”
Yummy, yummy, mac and cheese is my favorite. It feels so squishy in my mouth. Hey, I bet it will feel really squishy in my hands too! Yeah, oooh it does! I have a lot of extra mac and cheese, what should I do with it? I know… I’ll throw it on the floor! Hee hee, it looks funny on the floor! Swoosh, there goes another chunk! My hands are sticky. I bet my hair will help me clean my hands. Hey, hair works pretty well at cleaning my hands – oh no, Mommy’s eyes are popping out again.
“Tanner, what are you doing?!”
“Ook mommy, I keen ma hans!”
“No Tanner, food is for eating, not for throwing on the floor. You need to use your napkin to clean your hands, not your hair. Oh Lord, help me!”
“I orry mommy!”
“Okay Tanner, help mommy clean up the mac and cheese, okay.”
“I hep you mommy, I hep.”
Phew, I thought I was going back to timeout for a minute there. I’m going to be a big boy and help Mommy clean all this up. She’s going to be so proud of me.
“Thank you my big boy. See, the mac and cheese belongs in the plate, not on the floor.”
“Okay mommy!”
“Now it’s bath time for you.”
“Yeah, baf ime, baf ime!”
Bath time, I love taking a bath! Water is so much fun to play with. The water feels so splashy, hmmm….I wonder how big of a splash I can make with my boat? Wow, that was a big splash! I bet I can make an even bigger splash if I jump up and down with my boat…
SPLASH!
Oops, Mommy’s eyes are big again.
“Tanner No, you’re getting the floor all wet! Okay, it’s time to get out.”
“No, I no wanu get out. I wanu pay!”
“Nope, it’s time for bed.”
I don’t want to go to bed. I want to keep playing in the bath tub! I’m not even tired yet (yawn). I still have to play with my dinosaurs and (yawn) my cars. Ahh, my bed feels soft and warm. My Mommy sings pretty…my eyes feel heavy.
“Sweet dreams my little monkey. Goodnight… I love you.”
“Gooni, I uv you mommy.”
Ahh, I love my Mommy. Mommies are the best. I can’t wait to show her how much I love her tomorrow.

I saw an awful lot of 'sweet' here, but not so much 'bitter'.
This really tickled me, a lot.

Hope to see you at the FaithWriters' Conference in August. It’s going to be an amazing time of inspiration, information and encouragement. (If I’ve already mentioned that to you, forgive me. We’re just so excited about letting members know about this great gathering.)
