BEING A LIGHT THROUGH HER DARKNESS
What a beautiful young lady you are becoming. Just by looking at you I could never know the darkness that clouds your young mind. I donít realize the wounds that others have caused by careless hurtful words spoken to you in anger or just out of their own insecurities. I truly canít comprehend the pressure you feel when you canít seem to measure up to everyone in your peer group. I can see the pain in your eyes as I look a little closer. I pray that God can let me be a light in your life through all the darkness. I will love you through your pain and struggles. I will be shoulder you can cry on I will be the hands that hold you when you are hurting. I will be the heart of forgiveness when you fall short and the burdens are so overwhelming that it clouds your judgment. I will believe in you when the world says no way, you will always have my support. When your life seems so dark to you I will be there holding out my hand and calling your name to help you find your way. I thank God that he gave you to me. I pray that I can be the brightest light for Christ in your life. Lord, thank you for allowing me to be her mom.

You brought back memories of my concerns for my daughters, as they grew to become adults. Sometines we can become too intrusive in their lives, can't we?

Nice thoughts and, except for a missed word and missing punctuation, it is a good read.

good. Like a letter. I like the last line so we know WHO the writer is talking or writing to.

Hi Aletha. I just wanted to leave a quick note to let you know your entry, Being a Light Through Her Darkness, actually did very well in the Light and Dark Challenge. Although you didn't receive an award, you made it into the Highest Rankings for Level 1, placing 14th in that Level. There were a lot of entries this week, and competition in Level 1 is always very intense, so give yourself a pat on the back. :-)

If you'd like to check the highest rankings for yourself, you can find them here:
http://www.faithwriters.com/Boards/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25789

The highest rankings are posted every Thursday evening on the Message Boards.

Hope to see you at the FaithWriters' Conference in August. Itís going to be an amazing time of inspiration, information and encouragement.
