God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening and there was morning - the first day. Genesis 1:5 (NIV).
We pray for a healthy child,
We say that they are the light of our world,
Children are born everyday,
When a child is born we celebrate,
When a child smiles we smile back,
When a child cries, we pick them up and rock them,
When a child claps we clap with them,
When a child talks we become excited and talk back to them,
When a child begins to walk, we cannot stop smiling,
The light side of a child.
We cry when a child dies,
Children die everyday,
When a child is born with a birth defect, we are sad,
When a child goes to school we are nervous,
When a child comes home with a note from school our heart skips a beat,
When a child takes sick and no one can determine what is wrong we all are scared,
When a child goes to College, we have mixed emotions
When the phone rings late at night our mind begins to wonder, "What is wrong"?
When a child wrecks the family car, we are sad and happy, they are alive,
The dark side of a child .
When a child graduates from College, we are elated, no more loans,
When a child gets married we are at our best,
When a child has a child, we know that our generation will live on,
When a child gets divorced, the whole family is affected,
When a child knows how to pray and trust God, we know that we have done our part as parents.
A child's world is like light and dark.
