My Mother’s Womb

Before I was formed in my mother’s womb…
You knew me.
WOW!

You numbered all the hairs on my head…
I’m so important to you.
And special…very, very special.

You formed my smile which lights up my eyes…
A wonderful touch.
A smile lifts my soul.

You gave me freckles and light pink skin…
A hint of humor.
I need to laugh at myself!

You gave me feet and hands…
Made for helping.
Show me where I need to go.

You gave me eyes to see and ears to hear…
You want me to look and listen to hearts as you do.
I’m trying Lord.

And Knees, Lord.
You gave me knees….for kneeling,
So we can talk.

After the womb…
You knew me still.
Halleluiah!

As I grew…
You gave me gifts.
To Share.
Not hide.

You gave me the gift of hospitality…
To open my home.
With love and warmth.
Not judgment.

You gave me the gift of encouragement…
To lift my fellow man.
It only takes a moment,
To make someone’s day.

You gave me the gift of mercy…
You give me mercy and forgiveness,
I choose to do the same...not always easy.

You gave me the gift of humor…
Even if I don’t feel it,
I choose joy.

You gave me the ability to love deeply…
You call me to love ALL.
Not just the easy ones.

You gave your life so I could live forever…
With you…In Heaven,
My precious Savior.

You loved me before the womb…
You loved me after,
You will love me forever.
Amen.

I liked the way you used the before and after in this poem--The baby before birth and the person the baby became. Very good.

What an uplifting article. A crisp simple read that shows rather than merely tells the miracle of God's creative and continuing love and care.
