Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Retreat (as in quiet time away) (08/01/05)
“Hey you! I’m talking to you! I saw you glance my way.”


I really ought to read something today. I’ve got so much on my mind.

“It wouldn’t hurt if you just picked me up for a start! The cat at least sits on me! You just pile the Sunday papers on me!"


I need to figure out how we’ll pay the credit card this month. Mike will kill me when he sees how much I spent on that new outfit.


“Listen, I’ll make it easy for you! I’m better than that old TV guide your fingers are rifling through. Are you listening? Can you hear me under all this dust?” Cough..cough.


Kelly comes home from college next week. How are we ever going to readjust to her being here? Maybe I should call my mom.


“Your MOM! Don’t you think I can help more than that woman can? I have the perfect answers! Give me a chance for crying out loud!”


Why do I keep gaining so much weight? I gave up sugar. Must be my metabolism. Maybe I should make that doctor’s appointment I should have made months ago. I would hate to get so fat that Mike might comment. I remember he did the last time I put on an extra 10 pounds.


“ You look great! Let me show you how your INNER beauty is more important! Pleeeease come over here!”


Life seems so hectic now. How come it isn’t getting any easier? I need a vacation. Maybe I could convince Mike to take a week and we could go on that cruise we talked about. We both could use a good rest.


“A rest? You need a rest? I’m the perfect retreat! Pick me up, pull up your favorite chair, put your feet up and let me give you a vacation that is out of this world! You can start ‘in the beginning’ and I’ll do the rest.”


Hmmm. Maybe I really should read something from my bible. Wonder where I put it?
